GOT BREAD? MINISTRIES brings you a new Group called, "The Great Commission." What is the Great Commission? Why do Christians need to know and to understand this Commission? This is found in Matthew 28:18-20. The Gospel of Matthew ends now, with Jesus' appearance to His eleven disciples, and with what has come to be called the "Great Commission" (Matthew 28:18-20). Raised, Jesus the Servant King rules over the hidden kingdom of God. While not visible to men of the world, "all authority in heaven and in earth" is His.Trusting in the power of the risen Lord, the eleven---and all other followers of Jesus---are commissioned to "go and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:16-20). His promise supports us to this very day. "Surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.

  • "To Hear, Submit, Obey, and Surrender"
    ** James 1:19; Hebrews 13:17 **
You have to Hear, to know what you are to do. You then must Submit to what you are to do, by hearing. By your 'Choice/Decision to Submit (fully), you then Obey. When you Obey, you then Submit, Submit to Obey, Obey to Hear, Hear to do!!!
    • When I read this, what comes out is that these are all action words, verbs. In other words, you need to ACT. We can think and pray all day long, but there comes a point where it's time to put the pedal to the metal and get the job done.
  • Depend on it, God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supplies. If you are willing and obedient; you will eat the best from the land. Isaiah 1:19
  • It's not how many hours you put in but how much you put into the hours. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men...It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
    • Working for the Lord, and knowing that's what I'm doing, gives me a lot of strength to overcome adversities the strength coming from myself, and coming from the Holy Spirit.
  • 'God has a history of using the insignificant to accomplish the impossible.' And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27
    • Similarly, it is said; God does not use the qualified, the qualifies those He uses.
    • I love the word "all" in that verse. ALL things are possible; not only what we can think up, but what God can come up with too, and in my experience, as my loving Father He has come up with some real doozies in my life. Praise God!
